Can better use of temperature data make fire detection more reliable? This study uses large-scale computational simulation to examine how information from temperature sensors positioned at different levels can help identify developing fires while distinguishing genuine fire conditions from temporary changes in temperature.
This study employs high-performance computational simulation to investigate a fire-detection architecture based on temperature sensors positioned at two vertical levels. The analysis examines temperature distributions and temporal changes across sensor locations to evaluate their potential for identifying fire development and distinguishing fire-related thermal patterns from transient environmental variations. The study demonstrates the application of parallel computational simulation to the modeling and evaluation of sensor-based hazard-detection systems.
